2015 Malta Street Art Festival What's Happening in Sliema

This site was originally created to promote the 2015 Malta Street Art Festival. Once the festival was over the domain's registration expired and the site disappeared form the internet. For those of us who attended, the festival was an exhilarating three day experience amidst blazing sun during the day and incredible evenings. There was a huge number of participating artists including musicians, cyclists, performers, a BMX & Skate park which was constantly busy with bikes and skateboard showoffs, a Mini Malta Comic Convention, and a group of talented street artists created their own little masterpieces!

I have friends who visit Malta each summer to specifically attend the festival. When they decided to visit me in Maui I found a lovely Maui vacation rental in March when the The Ritz-Carlton holds their Annual Celebration of the Arts showcasing Hawaii’s most reputable artisans, educators, cultural practitioners, speakers and entertainers. Hands-on art, demonstrations, films, cultural panels, music and dance act as the common ground to allow visitors and residents the opportunity to interact and enjoy the “Number 1 rated cultural event” according Modern Luxury Hawaii magazine. Turns out that TNG/Earthling's Bob Sakayama is taking a working vacation here and I occasionally run into him. He's been in the press lately because one of the local Maui companies he optimized to the top of Google was just purchased by Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway. The local management company that I use offers fabulous condos along the west coastline of Maui in the best resorts located in the towns of Honokowai, Kaanapali, Kahana, Lahaina, Maalaea, Napili, and Kapalua. Nestled in one of Hawaii’s largest nature preserves, the Kapalua resort features a necklace of stunning white sand beaches, two marine sanctuaries, award-winning accommodations, premier real estate, and two legendary world-class golf courses. So in addition to enjoying the Annual Celebration of the Arts, my friends will also have plenty of other activities to pursue during their stay. Also, during this time of the year the weather should be fabulous and more comfortable when compared to Malta's hot summer weather.

Recently I discovered that the domain was available, so I bought it with the goal of recreating some of its original content from archived pages. I definitely didn't want someone else purchasing the domain and re-purposing it for something that had nothing in common with the original website. I wanted to keep the spirit of the original maltastreetartfestival.com website intact and add a few images of some of the incredible street art.

Information for the 2015 Festival

Since 2013 artists, tourists and locals have all endured the heat of Malta’s summer sun with us at our 3 day festival. Along the promenade of Sliema we had set up 4 music stages varying from Rock to Reggae, a market for local merchants, entertainment, as well as some of our own artists’ works.

A skate park was positioned directly on the beach for the local skaters and riders, along with trucks and cars scattered along the seafront, ready for a fresh coat of paint.

After 2 years in Sliema we are looking forward to taking this event to the next level and move it to the capital. Come with us

Not sure about where to go and where to stay? Now you have the official festival map with all the different areas.
